Creature Fear

of Bon Iver.

Hello All,
I just wanted to drop a line to everyone to talk about something not really related to Bon Iver Town, but related to Me-town; on a personal level. This is Justin, by the way. Expect some journal entries from other townies soon. Our town is growing.
Anyways, the point:
Last September I worked with these clowns (above.  these VERY VERY f*cking talented clowns at that) on a record. It was both one of the great pleasures of my life and THICK learning experience. That record spent the year finishing itself and becoming something that I think we are all very proud of and that I hope, many people will recognize.  I know that I am, in whatever small capacity I can be.  Im just proud to have been apart of it.  The record is the new Land of Talk record.
Its called ‘Some are Lakes’.  It stirs me, it makes me want to crush sh*t, it makes me LOVE rock music; find hope lining the strings of anger.  I don’t think a band since Fugazi, for ME, has done that. I have seen them do the same thing live to me, over 40 times.
Maybe never, have I enjoyed a record so much after working on it, so deeply and for so long.
Im sitting in Berlin right now, next to a river who’s bank has “I LOVE YOU TOO” graffitied on it. 15 minute walk from the crumbled Berlin Wall. And there is no other record I’d rather listen to right now.
Im only sharing because this record is special and I want you to hear it. Sorry to be so self involved. Also, of note, Randy Pingrey who is a Bon Iverian and lived in EC, is featured on the albums closer, playing trombone.
“Some are Lakes’ comes out on Saddle Creek in the US on the 7th of October. Go out and buy it, order it from the website. But for now, pay 10 bucks and download it RIGHT NOW at iTunes.
It will put one my all time favorite bands on your speakers this morning.
Whatever its worth.

Much love,

Justin
